waypost is a way of knowing where your people are that never draws the world for you. there is no map with dots. there is a hearth, and candles, and the understanding that a flame given is a flame that can be watched.
claim a marked candle at a lit hearth, in your colour. place it at home and light it: that candle is you, and it burns while you're findable. hold a plain candle to your marked one and it becomes a shared light — this you give away. a friend who carries your light lit sees you as a dot on a strip at the edge of their screen: bearing always coarse, precision priced in wax.
and the whole arrangement stays consent-shaped: snuff the marked candle on your mantel, and every light ever minted from it goes dark for good.
