graft

graft has no menu. you build a station, use it once, and a hollow figure wearing your own skin stands over the table from then on. hold a part and click the region of the figure it belongs to: it grafts. click a grafted region bare-handed: it comes back off. cyberpunk here is the chair and the ghost, never a list of upgrades to buy.

four parts, four limbs, one rule each: eyes see in the dark and can pulse a wallhack glow, arms reach further and can grip what you are looking at to you, legs shrug off falls and can blink six blocks, and the core holds the charge that pays for all three actives and opens the door past them. charge is one hidden number that fills only while you stand in a thrum ring — no bar, no icon, just a crystal on your chest glowing in four states and a heartbeat that slows as it empties.

graft all four and use the core bare-handed at the station, and the whole body goes chrome: no hunger, no drowning, poison and wither cleared every tick, the cost paid in charge instead of food. wander far from a ring for too long and the body cools, then crawls — it never dies of it, and a return trip to any ring fills it back up. use the core again at the station and you come back to flesh, the parts and their chrome staying grafted. marrow's lichdom is the dead road out of the body; this is the living one, and neither mod ever names the other.

the station needs no thrum at all to graft a part onto you — only the actives and the ascendency need the ring, and the station's own tooltip says so when the ring goes quiet.
