0.1.2navigation as craft, no map anywhere

waypost's refusals, held at sea: no map, no minimap, no HUD, no beam through terrain. the light says here; knowing where here is stays your job — and the reward for surveying your own coast is that it becomes legible, to you, to your people, and to any ship coming home in the dark.
the lighthouse lamp: a sea-lantern heart in an iron cage, set at the top of whatever tower you build. its room gets vanilla's brightest light; the sea gets a sweeping beam — sixty-four blocks of warm translucent light turning every twelve seconds, drawn out to two hundred and fifty-six blocks, far past where a block usually stops being drawn, because a lighthouse you cannot see from the sea is a lamp. and on foul nights it sounds: rain or thunder, every half minute, a low foghorn that carries about as far as the beam. a lighthouse that only worked in fair weather would have the job backwards.
port and starboard lights for the pier heads — red to port, green to starboard, the oldest agreement on the water. and buoys: port, starboard, and the fairway mark for the middle of a safe channel, laid straight onto open water and dropping as items if the water beneath them goes. vanilla textures throughout, even the beam: a white sprite the game already had, tinted warm. no new pixels anywhere.
