petkeep

petkeep tries to keep your tamed animals alive, and it holds itself to one rule: a rescue has to achieve something, or it is not a rescue. cancelling damage and leaving the pet in the lava that caused it just means the same damage arrives next tick, forever — so for any danger that persists, petkeep only steps in if it can actually move the animal somewhere safer. no invincible pets standing in fire; a pulled-out, shaken, living dog.

it also gives you a clean way to release a pet back into the wild, when it's time.
